I (or a member of my family) was infected with either Hepatitis C, HIV or both through Factor products, what do I do?

Disclaimer Before reading our suggestions please be advised that what you decide to do is entirely up to you. It is important that you make your own independent choices that you feel are right for you. There is no obligation on you to do anything and it is for each individual to decide the extent to which they wish to become involved.

With that being said, let’s get down to what you came here to read.

If you’re wanting to dive in and become fully involved in the pursuit of truth and justice we recommend that you take the following steps:

  1. Contact the solicitors who are representing the majority of infected / affected Core Participants at the Public Inquiry and who are also running the Group Legal Action, Collins Solicitors. They will be able to provide you with more information and answer any questions you may have. You can call Collins within working hours on 01923 223324.

  2. Join the private Factor 8 group on Facebook to connect with the infected / affected community and also follow our public Facebook Page and Twitter profile to get all the latest updates on social media. You can also sign up to our mailing list for e-mail updates.

  3. Obtain your (or your family members) medical records and gather up and evidence you may already have. You can find more information about obtaining medical records within this document. Remember to provide any evidence / records you have or obtain to Collins as soon as possible.

  4. The above three steps are your entry steps into playing an active part in the Inquiry / Legal Action, if you have not already done so, one of the first things the solicitors will guide you to do after signing up is to complete witness statement which can be provided as evidence to the Inquiry, every statement submitted is important and we very much encourage all those infected or affected to do this. If you wish to do so, you can also chose to do this anonymously. After completing these steps, you may want to become involved in campaigning.
