FAQ

  1. Is this all of the evidence Factor 8 holds and if not why aren’t you sharing everything? No it isn’t everything Factor 8 holds. We are sharing a portion of the material we hold that is: a) in the correct digital formats, b) is already or has previously been accessible to the public by other (usually more convoluted) means, and c) is not expected to present legal complexities. We are unable to share everything we hold due to formats, time, resources and legal reasons.

  2. How can I search through documents? You can not presently search through all documents or document packs at once. You can however open a document and then use the ctrl+F function on your keyboard to search a specific keyword inside any document or document pack.

  3. Will Factor 8 be making more documents available? Yes, over time we will be adding more documents.

  4. Aren’t all these documents available from the Infected Blood Inquiry website? No. The Infected Blood Inquiry is using a closed system to disclose documents to a small number of core participants and legal representatives during the Inquiry. Only a small number of documents have so far been disclosed publicly.

  5. Haven’t the Government already made all documents available? No. A senior civil servant said in an internal Cabinet Office email that information should be disclosed in a managed way. Factor 8 disagrees with this view, given that victims and families have already waited over 30 years for answers and information. Documentation will remain available and continue to be added here unless we are legally forced to remove it.
